Hadhrat Jaabir bin Abdullah  (Radhiyallaho anho)narrates that he heard the Prophet of Allah  (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam)saying:
1."To discard salaat is to be linked with Kufr."
2."To discard salaat is to be linked with Kufr and Shirk."
3."Discarding of salaat is the only partition between Imaan and Kufr."
The are a number of ahaadith on the subject.On one occasion, the Holy Prophet(Sallallaho alaihe wasallam)is reported to have said: "Hurry up with your salaat when it is cloudy  (lest you should err and miss the correct time),for to discard salaat is become a Kaafir."What a stern warning against even missing the correct time of salaat, as (according to this quotation) to miss the correct time of salaat is to discard it. Although, according to the interpretation of the Ulama,the verdict of Kufr is given against a person only when he rejects (and not simply neglects)salaat,yet the words of the Prophet(Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) occurring in these ahaadith should be very weighty for those who have any regard for him.It may, however, be noted that some of the very important companions of the Prophet(Sallallaho alaihe wasallam)like Umar.Abdullah bin Mas'ood.Abdullah bin Abbas (Radhiyallaho anhum),etc,and eminent jurists like Ahmad bin Hanbal,Ishaaq bin Raahwayh.Ibn Mubaarak,(Rahmatullah alaihim),etc,are definitely of the opinion that verdict of Kufr cam be given against the person who intentionally discards his salaat.May Allah save us!

হযরত খা‌লেদ ইব‌নে ওমায়র(রাঃ)

হযরত খা‌লেদ ইব‌নে ওমায়র অাদাবী(রাঃ)বর্ণনা ক‌রেন,ওতবা ইব‌নে গাজওয়ান(রাঃ)অামা‌দের উদ্দে‌শে এক‌টি ভাষন দেন।অাল্লাহর প্রশংসা এবং রাসূ‌লে‌র(সাঃ) প্র‌তি দরুদ ও সালামের পর তি‌নি ব‌লেন,‌নিঃস‌ন্দে‌হে দু‌নিয়ার অায়ুকাল শেষ হওয়ার প‌থে।দু‌নিয়ার অায়ুকাল অল্প কিছু অব‌শিষ্ট র‌হিয়া‌ছে,‌যেমন বরত‌নের ম‌ধ্যে সামান্য কিছু পানীয় জি‌নিস অব‌শিষ্ট থা‌কে এবং মানুষ তাহা চু‌ষিয়া লয়।দু‌নিয়া হই‌তে স্থানান্ত‌রিত হইয়া তোমরা এমন এক বাসস্থা‌নে গমন ক‌রি‌বে যাহা কখ‌নো শেষ হই‌বে না।কা‌জেই তোমা‌দের নিকট যেসব উত্তম বস্তু র‌হিয়া‌ছে তাহা লইয়া সেই ঘ‌রের দি‌কে যাও।অামা‌দের একথা জানা‌নো হইয়া‌ছে,‌দোয‌খের কিনারা হই‌তে এক‌টি পাথর নি‌ক্ষেপ করা হ‌ইবে,‌সেই পাথর ৭০ বছর পর্যন্ত দোয‌খের ম‌ধ্যে নী‌চের দি‌কে যাই‌তে থা‌কি‌বে,‌কিন্তু তবুও তাহা দোয‌খের তল‌দে‌শে পৌ‌ছি‌বেনা।মহান অাল্লাহর শপথ,এই দোযখও এক‌দিন মানুষ দ্বারা পূর্ণ হইয়া যাই‌বে।‌তোমরা কি একথা শু‌নিয়া অবাক হই‌তেছ?অামা‌দের একথাও বলা হইয়া‌ছে,‌বে‌হেশ‌তের দরজার দুই পা‌শের দূরত্ব হই‌বে ৪০ বছ‌রের,‌কিন্তু এই বে‌হেশ‌তের দরজাও এক‌দিন মানু‌ষে প‌রিপূর্ণ হইয়া যাই‌বে।অা‌মি এমন সময়ও দে‌খিয়া‌ছি যখন রাসূ‌লের স‌ঙ্গে অামরা ৭ জন ছিলাম।অা‌মি তাহা‌দের অর্ন্তভূক্ত ছিলাম।গা‌ছের পাতাই ছিল অামা‌দের খাদ্যবস্তু।‌দি‌নের পর দিন সেই পাতা খাই‌তে খাই‌তে অামা‌দের দাঁ‌তের মা‌ঢ়ি‌তে ক্ষত হইয়া গিয়া‌ছিল।অা‌মি একখা‌নি চাদর পাইয়া কা‌টিয়া তাহা দুই ভাগ ক‌রিলাম,এক ভাগ দ্বারা লু‌ঙ্গি বানাইলাম,এক ভাগ দ্বারা সাদ ইব‌নে মা‌লে‌ক লু‌ঙ্গি বানাই‌লেন।অথচ অাজ অামা‌দের ম‌ধ্যে প্র‌ত্যে‌কের কোন না কোন শহ‌রে গভর্ন‌রের দা‌য়িত্ব পাইয়া‌ছি।‌নি‌জের দৃ‌ষ্টি‌তে বড় হইব অার অাল্লাহর দৃ‌ষ্টি‌তে ছোট হইব,এইরুপ অবস্থা হই‌তে অাল্লাহ তায়ালার নিকট পানাহ চা‌হি‌তে‌ছি।এই নিয়ম সর্বকা‌লেই দেখা গিয়া‌ছে,নবুয়‌তের ত‌রিকা কিছুকাল চলার পর শেষ হইয়া যায়,তার পর রাজতন্ত্র তাহার স্থান অ‌ধিকার ক‌রে।অামা‌দের প‌রে তোমরা অন্য গর্ভনর‌দের অ‌ভিজ্ঞতা অর্জন ক‌রি‌বে।  -(মুস‌লিম)

হযরত অানাস ইব‌নে মা‌লেক (রাঃ) |

হযরত অানাস ইব‌নে মা‌লেক (রাঃ) বর্ণনা ক‌রেন,‌তিন জন লোক‌ রাসূল (সাঃ) এর এবাদত সম্প‌র্কে জানার জন্য তাঁহার স্ত্রী‌দের নিকট অাগমন ক‌রেন।রাসূল (সাঃ) এর এবাদত সম্প‌র্কে জানা‌নোর পর তাহারা এই এবাদত‌কে কম ম‌নে ক‌রি‌লেন।তারপর ব‌লি‌লেন,রাসূল (সাঃ) এর স‌ঙ্গে কি ক‌রিয়া অামা‌দের তুলনা হই‌তে পা‌রে?অাল্লাহ তায়ালা তাঁহার পূর্বাপর সকল পাপ ক্ষমা ক‌রিয়া দিয়া‌ছেন।তারপর অাগন্তুক‌দের একজন ব‌লি‌লেন,অা‌মি সারারাত নামায অাদায় ক‌রিব।অন্যজন ব‌লি‌লেন,অা‌মি সব সময় রোযা রা‌খিব।তৃতীয় জন ব‌লি‌লেন,অামার স্ত্রী সংস্পর্শ বর্জন ক‌রিব,কখ‌নোই বিবাহ ক‌রিব না।ই‌তিম‌ধ্যে রাসূল (সাঃ) অাগমন ক‌রি‌লেন।‌তি‌নি ব‌লি‌লেন,‌তোমরা কি এই সব কথা ব‌লিয়াছ?তারপর ব‌লি‌লেন,‌শোন!‌তোমা‌দের ম‌ধ্যে অাল্লাহ তায়ালা‌কে অা‌মি সব‌চে‌য়ে বেশী ভয় ক‌রি,অা‌মি সব‌চে‌য়ে বে‌শি তাকওয়া অবলম্বন ক‌রি,‌কিন্তু অা‌মি কখ‌নো রোযা রা‌খি কখ‌নো রোযা রা‌খিনা।কখ‌নো নামায অাদায় ক‌রি অাবার কখ‌নো নামায অাদায় ক‌রিনা;বরং ঘুমাই।অার অা‌মি বি‌য়েও ক‌রি।‌যে ব্য‌ক্তি অামার সুন্নত বা ত‌রিকা হই‌তে মুখ ফিরাইয়া‌ছে,‌সে অামার দলভুক্ত ন‌হে।     _(‌বোখারী)

হযরত অাব্দুল্লাহ ইব‌নে ছা‌বেত (রাঃ)।

হযরত অাব্দুল্লাহ ইব‌নে ছা‌বেত (রাঃ) বর্ণনা ক‌রেন,হযরত ওমর ইব‌নে খাত্তাব(রাঃ)রাছূল (সাঃ)-এর নিকট উপ‌স্থিত হইয়া ব‌লি‌লেন,‌হে অাল্লাহর রাছূল!অা‌মি বনু কোরায়জা গো‌ত্রে অামার এক ভাই‌য়ের নিকট গিয়া‌ছিলাম।‌সে অামার উপকা‌রের কথা ভা‌বিয়া তাওরাত হই‌তে কিছু দরকারী কথা অামা‌কে লি‌খিয়া দিয়া‌ছে।অাপ‌নি য‌দি অনুম‌তি দেন ত‌বে সেসব অাপনার সাম‌নে পেশ ক‌রিব।একথা শু‌নিয়া রাছূল (সাঃ)-এর চেহারার রং প‌রিবর্তন হইয়া গেল।অাব্দুল্লাহ ইব‌নে ছা‌বেত ব‌লেন,অা‌মি হযরত ওমর‌কে ব‌লিলাম,অাপ‌নি কি রাছূল (সাঃ)-এর চেহারায় অসন্তু‌ষ্টি লক্ষ্য ক‌রেন নাই?হযরত ওমর (রাঃ) সা‌থে সা‌থে নি‌জের ভুল বু‌ঝি‌তে পা‌রি‌লেন।‌তি‌নি ব‌লি‌লেন,অামরা অাল্লাহ তায়ালা‌কে প্র‌তিপালক,ইসলাম‌কে প‌রিপূর্ন দ্বীন এবং মোহাম্মদ (সাঃ)-‌কে অাল্লাহর রাছূল হিসা‌বে মা‌নিয়‌া‌ছি এবং ইহা‌তে অামরা সন্তুষ্ট।রাছূল (সাঃ) একথা শোনার পর তাঁহার চেহারার অসন্তু‌ষ্টির ভাব দুর হইল।তি‌নি ব‌লি‌লেন,‌সেই সত্তার শপথ যাঁহার হা‌তে মোহাম্ম‌দের প্রাণ র‌হিয়া‌ছে,অাজ য‌দি মূসা (অাঃ)তোমা‌দের ম‌ধ্যে থা‌কি‌তেন এবং অামা‌কে ত্যাগ ক‌রিয়া তোমরা য‌দি তাঁহার অনুসরণ ক‌রি‌তে,ত‌বে তোমরা হই‌তে পথভ্রষ্ট।উম্মত‌দের ম‌ধ্য হই‌তে তোমরা অামার অং‌শে প‌ড়িয়াছ।নবী‌দের ম‌ধ্যে অা‌মি তোমা‌দের অং‌শে প‌ড়িয়া‌ছি।-(‌মোসনা‌দে অাহমদ)

Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) has said.

Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) has said, "The world and all it contents,are accused (I.e.are devoid of Allah,s mercy).except the following three:
(1) zikr of Allah and everything that is near it,
(2) the (Religious) a slim,and,
(3) the student  (the seeker of religious knowledge)."
The first may mean either the things near to zikr of Allah.

হযরত অাবু মূসা (রাঃ) |

হযরত অাবু মূসা (রাঃ) বর্ণনা ক‌রেন,রাসূুল (সঃ) ব‌লিয়া‌ছেন,অামার এবং অামা‌কে দেওয়া দ্বী‌নের উদাহরণ হই‌তে‌ছে সেই ব্য‌ক্তির মত,‌ যে স্বজাতীয় লোকদের নিকট অা‌সিয়া ব‌লিল, হে অামার সম্প্রদায়! অা‌মি নি‌জের চো‌খে এক‌টি শত্রু বা‌হিনী দে‌খিয়া‌ছি, অা‌মি স‌ত্যিকার সতর্ককারী, কা‌জেই তোমরা চিন্তা কর। অাত্মরক্ষার কথা ভাব। একথা শু‌নিয়া সম্প্রদা‌য়ের কিছু লোক তাহার কথা বিশ্বাস ক‌রিল এবং রা‌তেই রওয়ানা হইল। শত্রুর কবল হই‌তে তাহারা রক্ষা পাইল। কিছু লোক এই খবর যি‌নি দিয়া‌ছেন তাহা‌কে ম‌নে ক‌রিল মিথ্যাবাদী। সকাল বেলা শত্রু বা‌হিনী তাহা‌দের উপর ঝাঁপাইয়া প‌ড়িল এবং তাহা‌দের সম্পূর্ণভা‌বে ধ্বংস ক‌রিয়া দিল। যে ব্য‌ক্তি অামার কথা মা‌নিল, অামার অানীত দ্বীনের অনুসরণ ক‌রিল,ইহা সেই ব্য‌ক্তির উদহারণ। যে ব্য‌ক্তি অামার কথা ম‌া‌নিল না, তাহার উদহারণ এই যে, সে দ্বী‌ন‌কে অসত্য ম‌নে ক‌রিল এবং ধ্বংস হইয়া গেল।      -(‌বোখারী)

Hadhrat Ibn Mas'ood (Radhiyallaho anho).

Hadhrat Ibn Mas'ood  (Radhiyallaho anho) marrates that he heard the Holy Prophet  (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) saying:" At the approach of the hour of a salaat, an Angel is deputed to proclaim. 'Arise,O Children of Aadam! and extinguish the fire that you have  (by committing sins) kindled to burn yourselves. So,the people rise up,perform wudhu and offer their Zuhr prayer. This causes forgiveness of their sins committed since day-break. The same is reported at Asr. Maghrib and Ishaa. After Ishaa people go to bed, but there are some who busy themselves in good, while some others in evil deeds.
Hadhrat Salmaan (Radhiyallaho anho) says, "After Ishaa the people get divided into three groups. There are some for whom the night is a source of blessing and gain. They are those who spend it in the worship of Allah, while other people are asleep. For them the night brings great reward from their Lord.There are others who turn their night into a burden and curse for themselves, for they indulge in various dark deeds in the dead of night. To them the night brings woe and  misery. There is the third group of people who go to bed immediately after Ishaa,  they neither gain nor lose."

হযরত জা‌বের ইব‌নে অাব্দুল্লাহ(রাঃ)

হযরত জা‌বের ইব‌নে অাব্দুল্লাহ(রাঃ)ব‌লেন,রাসূল(সঃ)এক সময় ঘুমাই‌তে‌ছি‌লেন।‌সে সময় ক‌য়েকজন ফে‌রেশতা তাঁহার নিকট অা‌সি‌লেন।অাগন্তুক ফে‌রেশতাগন নি‌জে‌দের ম‌ধ্যে বলাব‌লি ক‌রি‌তে‌ছি‌লেন,রাসূল (সঃ) ঘুমাইয়া অা‌ছেন।একজন ব‌লি‌লেন,‌চোখ ঘুমাইতে‌ছে কিন্তু অন্তর জা‌গিয়া অা‌ছে।তারপর একে অন্য‌কে ব‌লি‌লেন,‌তোমা‌দের এই সাক্ষী সম্প‌র্কে এক‌টি উদাহরণ র‌হিয়া‌ছে,‌সেই উদাহরণ তাঁহার সাম‌নে বর্ণনা কর।‌কেহ ব‌লি‌লেন,‌তি‌নি তো ঘুমাই‌তে‌ছেন।একজন ব‌লিল,‌চোখ ঘুমায় কিন্তু অন্তর জাগ্রত।তারপর অন্যজন ব‌লি‌লেন,তাঁহার উদাহরণ এই রকম,এক ব্য‌ক্তি একখা‌নি ঘর বানাইল এবং সেখা‌নে দাওয়া‌তের অা‌য়োজন ক‌রিল।তারপর লোক‌দের ডা‌কিবার জন্য একজন মানুষ পাঠাইল।অাহবানকারীর কথা যে বিশ্বাস ক‌রি‌বে সে ঘ‌রে প্র‌বেশ ক‌রি‌বে এবং খাবারও খাই‌বে।অার যে বিশ্বাস ক‌রি‌বেনা সে ঘ‌রে প্র‌বেশও ক‌রি‌বেনা খাবারও খাই‌বে না।অন্যজন ব‌লিল,এই উদাহরণ ভা‌লোভা‌বে ব্যাখ্যা কর যেন তি‌নি বু‌ঝি‌তে পা‌রেন।একজন ফে‌রেশতা ব‌লি‌লেন,‌তি‌নি তো ঘুমাই‌তে‌ছেন।অন্যরা ব‌লি‌লেন,‌চোখ ঘুমায় কিন্তু অন্তকরণ জাগ্রত।তারপর ব‌লি‌তে লা‌গি‌লেন,‌সেই ঘর হইল জান্নাত।অার যি‌নি অাহবানকারী তি‌নি হই‌তে‌ছেন মোহাম্মদ সাল্লাল্লাহু অালায়‌হি ওয়া সাল্লাম।‌যে ব্য‌ক্তি মোহাম্মদরে (সঃ)অানুগত্য ক‌রি‌বে সে অাল্লাহর অানুগত্য ক‌রি‌বে।অার যে মোহাম্ম‌দের (সঃ) বি‌রো‌ধিতা ক‌রি‌বে সে অাল্লাহর নাফরমানী ক‌রি‌বে।‌মোহাম্মদ(সঃ)সকল মানুষ‌কে দুই ভা‌গে বিভক্ত ক‌রিয়া দিয়া‌ছেন। -‌(বোখারী)

Hadhrat Abu Zar (Radhiyallaho anho)

"Hadhrat Abu Zar (Radhiyallaho anho) narrates that once the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) came out of his house. It was Autumn and the leaves were falling off the trees. He caught hold of a branch of a tree and its leaves began to drop in large number. At this he remarked,'O, Abu Zar ! (Radhiyallaho anho) when a Muslim offers his salaat to please Allah., his sins are shed away from him just as these leaves are falling off this tree."
In Autumn, usually, the leaves of the trees fall in large numbers, so much so that on some trees not a single leaf is sincerity and devotion. All the sins of the person offering salaat are wiped off. It should, however, be remembered that according to the verdict of the theologians,it is only the saghaa'ir  (minor sins) that are forgiven by the performance of salaat and other services. The Kabaa'ir  (major sins) are not pardoned without repenuance.We should, therefore, in addition to saying salaat, be particular about doing taubah (repentance)and istighfaar (seeking forgiveness).Allah may, however, pardon, by His bountiful Grace,even the Kabaa'ir of any person because of his salaat.

Abu Musa Ash'ari (Radhiyallaho anho)

Abu Musa Ash'ari (Radhiyallaho anho) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) said, "Be watchful towards the Qur'an. I swear by Him in Whose hands my life is, that the Qur'an is apt to escape from the hearts more rapidly than do the camels from their strings."
If a man becomes neglectful in looking after an animal, and the animal frees itself from the halter, it will bolt away. Similarly if the Holy Qur'an is not looked after, it will not be remembered and will be forgotten. The fact that the Holy Qur'an gets committed to memory is a distinct miracle of the Book itself.Otherwise memorizing a book one-half or even one-third of its size not only difficult but well-nigh impossible. Therefore, the fact that the Holy Qur'an gets committed to memory is mentioned by Almighty Allah as a Divine favour in surah al-Qamar, where it is repeated over and over-
We have made the Qur'an easy for remembrance,So is there any one who will remember? The author of al-Jalalain writes that the interrogatory clause in this ayat is in fact an imperative one. Thus Almighty Allah has stressed over and over again the importance of memorizing the Qur'an, but if we Muslims are so perverse as to think that this act is useless and wasteful of time and energy, this blunder on our part is sufficient to justify our destruction. It is a matter of surprise indeed that, when 'Uzair (Alayhis salaam) reproduced the Torah from memory he was exalted to be called the "Son of God; "poor indeed is the regard that we have for the blessing and favour of Allah, that He has made the memorizing of the Glorious Qur'an easy for all of us (and not only for an individual as in the case of Torah). It is for such people that the Qur'an says:
And those who do wrong will come to know by what a (Great) reverse they will be over-turned!
It is merely thorough the grace and blessing of Almighty Allah that the Qur'an gets memorized, but afterwards, if a person neglects it, he is made to forget it. There are severe admonitions for those who forget the Glorious Qur'an after having learnt it. Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) is reported to have said,"The sins of my ummat were shown to me. I did not find any sin as great as that of forgetting the Holy Qur'an after having read it."In another hadith it is said that any one who forgets Qur'an after having read it, will appear in the Court of Allah as a leper. According to a riwaayat of Razeen (Rahmatullah alaih) in 'Jam'ul-Fawaa'id, the following ayat refer to it:
But whosoever turns away from My Massage, verily for him is a narrowed life and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Judgement. He shall say:" My Lord, why hast Thou raised me blind, and I was a seeing on eindeed."He will say,"Even so Our commandments came to thee, but thou didst neglects them; even thus shalt thou be forsaken today. "

হযরত ওমর ইব‌নে খাত্তাব (রাঃ)।

হযরত ওমর ইব‌নে খাত্তাব (রাঃ) বর্ণনা ক‌রেন, রাসূল (সাঃ)-এর নিকট ক‌য়েকজন বন্দী‌কে হা‌জির করা হইল। তাহা‌দের ম‌ধ্যে একজন ম‌হিলা নিজ সন্তা‌নের সন্ধান ক‌রি‌তে‌ছিল। সন্তান পাওয়ার পর সে তাহা‌কে বু‌কে জড়াইয়া ধ‌রিল এবং দুধ পান করাইল। রাসূল (সাঃ) ইহা লক্ষ্য ক‌রিয়া ব‌লি‌লেন, তোমরা কি ম‌নে কর এই ম‌হিলা তাহার সন্তান‌কে অাগু‌নে নি‌ক্ষেপ ক‌রি‌তে পা‌রি‌বে? সাহাবাগণ ব‌লি‌লেন, সেটা‌ কিছু‌তেই সম্ভব ন‌হে। রাসূল (সাঃ) ব‌লি‌লেন, এই ম‌হিলা নিজ সন্তান‌কে যেমন দয়া স্নেহ ক‌রে, অাল্লাহ তায়ালা তাঁহার বান্দা‌দের ইহা অ‌পেক্ষা অ‌ধিক দয়া স্নেহ ক‌রেন।        -(মুস‌লিম)

হযরত অাবু হোরায়রা (রাঃ)

হযরত অাবু হোরায়রা (রাঃ) ব‌লেন,অা‌মি রাসূল (সাঃ) কে একথা ব‌লি‌তে শু‌নিয়া‌ছি,‌লো‌কেরা সব সময় একে অন্যকে জিজ্ঞাসা ক‌রি‌তে থা‌কি‌বে,অব‌শে‌ষে বলা হই‌বে,অাল্লাহ তায়ালা সমগ্র মাখলুক সৃ‌ষ্টি ক‌রিয়া‌ছেন,‌কিন্তুু অাল্লাহ‌কে কে সৃ‌ষ্টি ক‌রিয়া‌ছেন?যখন লো‌কেরা এই কথা ব‌লি‌বে তোমরা তখন এই কা‌লেমাসমূহ ব‌লি‌বে-অাল্লাহু অাহাদুন অাল্লাহুছ ছামাদু লাম ইয়া‌লিদ অলাম ইউলাদ।অলাম ইয়াকুল লাহু   কুফুয়ান অাহাদ।অর্থাৎ অাল্লাহ তায়ালা এক।অাল্লাহ তায়ালা কাহা‌রো মুখা‌পেক্ষী ন‌হেন।সক‌লেই তাহার মুখা‌পেক্ষী।অাল্লাহ তায়ালার কোন সন্তান নাই এবং তি‌নি কাহা‌রো হই‌তে সৃ‌ষ্টি হন নাই।‌কেহই অাল্লাহ তায়ালার সমকক্ষ ন‌হে।তারপর নি‌জের বাম‌দি‌কে তিন বার থুথু নি‌ক্ষেপ ক‌রি‌বে এবং অাল্লাহ তায়ালার নিকট বিতা‌ড়িত শয়তান হই‌তে পানাহ চাহি‌বে।   -(অাবু দাউদ,‌মেশকাত)
